Guru Granth Sahib Jee's Satkaar is more important then anything else

It was the year of 1976, and Akhand Keertani jatha had a Kirtan Programme and Mehta Sahib. Akhand Paat Sahib Had Happened , but Guru Sahib had not been taken to sukhasan asthaan because a rehansabai was going on. At around 12 am that night, Sant Kartar Singh Jee and many other singhs ( sant jarnail singh etc.) were on the top of the langar hall building of Mehta Headquaters. Sant kartar singh jee were resting on a Manjaa at the time. All of a sudden the Manjaa toppled over and Sant Kartar Singh Jee fell on the ground. All the singhs were shocked at how the bed toppled over without sant jee moving or any one pushing it. Sant Jee without saying anything ran to the Diwaan and all the other Singh's followed.

Sant Jee told his Garrwai Singh to wash his feet. While the Kirtan was going on Sant jee did Sukhasan, Took Guru sahib jee to the Sukhasan Asthaan, brought another saroop of guru sahib then did parkaash. When Sant Jee went back into the diwaan, they did the following bachan to all the sangat there. That Guru Gobind Singh jee themselves got Sant ji by the ear and threw him off the manjaa and said , ' Kartaar Singh , you are the sewadaar of this place. It is your duty to do my sewa, but you are lying on a bed while Guru sahib Has been parkash for the past three days and sukhasan still had'd been done tonight. At the time Sant Ji were very upset and kept asking forgiveness at the Feet of satguru. They said to the sangat - Guru Granth Sahib Ji are God on Earth but why can't we even do their Satkaar properly? They are Akaal Purakh Vaheguru's Sargun form, blessing us moorakhs with their darshan.

Baba Attar Singh Jee

In the Sikh Panth we have three types of Mahapursh. Daane, Diwaaneh, Mastaaneh. Daane Mahapursh always stay in maryada, so the sangat in turn keep it. They come for the 'Bhalaa' of mankind.

Sant Baba Attar Singh Jee are one of the greatest mahapursh of the Sikh Panth. They were ' maryada purshotam.'

- During Shabad kirtan Sant jee never sat on any special seat etc but sat in the sangat.

- They would never travel in a special made carriage etc when sangat was doing shabd keertan.

- They refrained people from touching their charan , matha tekh. They used to say that only say fateh to me when you see me, especially in maharaj's hazuri. In Guru Sahib's Hazuri it is against maryada to do matha tekh to any one. To prevent anyone doing matha tekh to them Sant Jee always used to sit in Guru Maharaj's Taabiya.

In this way Sant Jee was able to do mass amrit parchaar. Throughtout Punjab and the rest of India, it is said the Sant ji made 14 Hundered thousand people Amrit dhari. Sant Jee were always ready to do amrit sanchaar, and also there way of parchaar was very simple. They never forced anyone to take amrit , the way they did there parchaar, or the way their Partaap just effect people made people join into the Khalsa fauj. They used to say ' Amrit is Guru Nanak Dev Jee's ' jahaaj ' or ship , and those who come aboard that ship will cross the world Ocean. Amrit is the seed of Naam Ras , Amrit Ras and Bir ras. ' Sant ji also discouraged Kirpaan da amrit for women and started khande di amrit for everyone. Som people used to say to sant ji that we want to take amrit from you hands. Sant jee used to laugh and say that any rehitvaan 5 singhs are Dasam Paatshah's roop. Dasam Patshah themselves give amrit to the abhilaakhees!

Sant Gurbachan Singh jee’s Abhyaas of Gurbani

One time Sant Kartar singh ‘premi’ asked sant Gurbachan Singh ji that any line we give from Guru Granth sahib you can automatically tell us which’ Ang ‘ it is on, how did your abhyaas of Gurbani get to this extraordinary stage? Sant ji said that before coming to Sant Baba Sundar Singh Ji he had done over 500 Sehaj Paats. This is something we all need incorporate into our lives; doing sehaj paat of Sat guru Granth Sahib Daily. If we ask any random Sikh, even many amritdharis, we see that many people have not even done Darshan under the Ramala sahibs of Guru jee, Let alone doing Complete darshan of Guru jee ( Sehaj paat.)

One time, when Sant jee were abit younger, they went to Singhawale Pind to do akhand paat raul. After doing their raul, Sant jee went to his Aasan and layed down and went to sleep. From the exact Pangti, ang they left their raul at, they started doing paat from there from memory in their sleep.

One time Sant ji went to Pind Rode to do Sri Akhand paat Sahib. Baba Hazara Singh, the elder brother of Sant Ji was also with them. Sant Jee did raul from 2am to 4am and then went to go to rest. Sant Ji had left his raul at this Pangti:

aapae aap varathadhaa piaaraa aapae aap apaahu

My Beloved Lord Himself pervades and permeates all; He Himself is, all by Himself.
While sleeping he started Paat from this exact pangti where he had left off. They read many angs. Bhai hazara singh brought all the other paati singhs and they were all left shocked at how Sant ji’s abhiaas of Gurbani was so advanced. When Sant ji was around 7 Years of age they had become a very good paati. Nowadays many people undermine Paatis, but being a proper paati is quite an accomplishment. Only such person can be called an Akhand Paathi who can do at least 60 angs in 2 hours i.e. one ang in 2 minutes. There is no easy way to become a Paathi. To be a Paathi, either one has to have Kamaayee from previous Janams, or pure Kirpa of Guru Sahib or do it the regular way - Hard work.

Before coming to Sant Baba Sundar Singh Jee , Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee used to to 5 nitnems everyday. Sant Sundar Singh Jee told them to do 1 themselves and listen to another from any singh. When asked why they did so many nitnems, their reply was that any nitnem I missed from childhood or when i was ill etc i am doing them now.


Sant Ji life was ; Gurbani :
mai gurabaanee aadhhaar hai gurabaanee laag rehaao 8

Bhai Fauja Singh Shaheed, Sant Kartar Singh Jee, And Sant Harnam Singh Ram pur Khera

(This is an excerpt from interview with Bibi Amarjit Kaur ji,Wife of Shaheed Bhai Fauja SIngh ji.)

There was a very loving relationship. Sant Giani Kartar Singh jee used to have a lot of love and respect for him. He would spread his hazooriya on the ground for him (Bhai Sahib) to sit on.It was in those days that some mischievous people disrespected Sree Guru Granth Sahib jee in Gurdwara Guru Kay Mehal and he (Bhai Sahib) had arrived there along with his companions. The incensed mob threw rocks
and bottles of acid at the Singhs. Their clothes burnt off but their bodies were alright. After this incident, we along with the Bhindravala Jatha took out a march through Amritsar and at this time Sant jee gave his full support.It was also at this time that we would go to Mehta Chownk to do Akhand Keertan. Sant Giani Kartar
Singh was very opposed to human Gurudoms and because of this, he (Bhai Sahib) had a lot of love for him. To stop the Narakhdari attacks, we started a common front.And in addition, he also had a lot of love for Sant Baba Harnam Singh Rampur Khaeray vaalay. One time Sant jee came from Khaera Sahib to Sree Amritsar and his avasthaa
was very vairagi. I met him in Guru Ram Das Saraa(n) and I asked him to
come to our home. Sant jee had not eaten for four days.He (Bhai Sahib) said to Baba jee, "Baba jee, please give my message to Guru Gobind Singh jee" Baba jee replied, "Alright son, I'll give it." What that message was, I didn't know nor did he ask.The next day Sant jee said, "Son, I gave your message to Guru Sahib. Guru Sahib has said, "So Sikh sakhaa bandhap hai bhai jo gur kay bhaanay vich aavai." "At that time I didn't understand what Guru Sahib's bhaanaa was. When he became shaheed though, I understood everything about what bhaanaa Sant jee was talking about.

The Great Gursikh Jeevan of Baba Khajaan Singh

Vaheguru Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Jee Ki Fateh!


Baba Khazaan Singh were the father of Sant Sunder Singh Bhindranwalay (11th Jathedhar of Guru Ji's Damdami Taksal). Sant Sunder Singh jee Bhindranwaalay was a great Gursikh who led an exemplary life, did massive parchaar of Sikhi, inspired countless to take amrit and taught Gurbani and Gurbani meanings to countless students, in his short life of 42 years or so. While many have heard about the Gurmukhi life of Sant Sunder Singh jee, few are aware of how great his father was. This is a feeble attempt by this insect to write something on the great life of Baba Khazaan Singh jee.

This is based on Dr Sher Singh's book on Sant Sunder Singh, Sant Gurbachan Singh's coverage of Sant Sunder Singh's life and oral narrations from Gursikhs from time to time.



Baba Khazaan Singh was the middle son of Baba Makhan Singh the grandfather of Sant Sunder Singh jee. Here are some highlights of Baba jee's jeevan:

1) Baba jee was a simple farmer who worked hard to earn bread for his family. He was from village Bhinder Kalan in Ferozepur district of Punjab.

2) Baba jee was extremely honest. He never let even a grain not belonging to him, come to his home. While working in his fields, he used to constantly do Naam Simran and Gurbani paath.

3) He got married to a very Gurmukhi bibi Mata Taab Kaur jee. She was not educated but due to her husband's satsangat, she developed keen interest and love for Gurbani.

4) Baba jee had great urge to have darshan of Guru Sahib. In year 1887, a year before the birth of Sant Sunder Singh jee, at the time of Avtaar Purab of Siri Guru Nanak Dev jee, Baba jee decided to go all out for darshan of Guru Sahib. He committed to doing strict amritvela and doing one Siri Sukhmani Sahib standing on one leg, 3 hours and 45 minutes before sunrise. Just few days had passed while engaging in day night paath like this that Baba jee was hit with extreme Bairaag. He gave up all interest in world and started doing bhajan day and night. At the behest of some gursikhs, who asked him to come in Sehaj Avastha, he started taking care of his worldly duties again.

5) Before the birth of Sant Sunder Singh, Baba jee did 36 lakh (3.6 million) jaap of Mool Mantr.

6) Later in his life he did 125,000 jaap of Siri Jap jee Sahib.

7) Later in his years he did 101 Paaths of Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee in the span of 3 years. This means about 3 Sehaj paaths a month. Along with this he did 36 lakh paaths of Mool Mantr, all within 3 years. This means massive paath a day, for three years.

8) He used to do at least 100 angs worth of baani a day.

9) He used to do 3300 jaap of Mool Mantra a day.

10) He had about 100 angs of baani fully memorized.

11) He used to wear only Khaddar.

12) He was a very strict amritdhaari.

13) He never let a day pass without going to Gurdwara Sahib.

14) He used to eat only once a day at 10am.

15) Before eating food, he used to look for someone to share with. Reading the life of Baba jee, I was surprised. So much kamaayee and no one knows his name. I have no doubt that even today there are many gupt gursikhs out there about whom we know nothing. Hearing about kamaayee of Baba jee I feel like putting my nose in a chapnee and dying. May Guru Sahib do kirpa on us and may we lead our life like Baba jee and other great gursikhs.

Baba Isher Singh Jee's Sewa For Baba Nand Singh

gur peeraa(n) kee chaakaree mehaa(n) kararree sukh saar
To work for the Guru, or a spiritual teacher, is terribly difficult, but it brings the most excellent peace.


Starting Sewa


When Baba Isher Singh Jee became Baba Nand Singh jee's hazuria, he gave up all of lifes 'sukh' for Baba jee. As the above tuk mentions , doing that sewa is extremly hard, but brings the best sukh. When baba isher singh jee first came into baba jis charan, the hajurias (personal attendants of Baba Nand Singh Jee.) Were some other older singhs. They saw how baba Isher Singh ji had alot of piaar for Baba Nanad Singh and would do anthing for them.So whenever baba nand singh jee used to go out somewhere , they used to call Baba isher singh to do all their work for them while they sat around resting and sleeping. Baba Isher singh used to wash all of Baba jee's clothes, clean all the dishes,sweep everywhere etc. Before Baba Nand Singh came they used to take Baba Isher Singh out and pretend to do the work themselves. Baba Isher Singh jee knew that the old hazurie were up to something, but he thought that if i told Baba Nand Singh jee, it would be doing 'shikaaet' ( complaint.) In guru ghar it isn't good to blame and complain about others.

One time baba nand singh jee went for a walk, and Baba Isher Singh was told to do all the work. When they saw baba Nand Singh jee walking back they shouted to BAba Isher Singh jee, ' run before baba jee comes back!' Baba Isher Singh jee were just about to walk out when Baba Nand Singh jee arrived and said ' where are you going?' Baba jee said im going out from here, Baba Nand Singh jee said' no you will stay.' Baba nand singh came inside and layed down on their aasan, and the old hazurieh started doing sewa off massaging Baba ji's legs etc. He said to baba isher singh jee ' when i go out , you come in, and when i come in , you go out..don't worry about doing complaints, its better just to tell the truth.' Baba isher singh jee said your sevadaars call me in to do all the sewa and when they tell me to go out, i go.' Baba jee said, these people are very bad, they don't deserve this sewa. From today only you will do this sewa of being my hazuria.' Baba jee started this sewa with alot of prem and bhaavna, and when they were free of this sewa they used to remain in bhagti.

Protecting Baba Nand Singh Jee In Dehradoon



One time when Baba Nand Singh Jee Were at dehradoon, they were sitting out side doing tap. they were sitting in smadhi , in Guru Nanak Dev jee's charan. all of a sudden there was thunder and it started pouring with hailstones. Baba jee were standing near Baba Nand Singh in their sewa. When the hailstones started , Baba Isher Singh jee stood on rock near Baba Nand Singh jee and bent over so they were covering baba jee, as all the hailstones were hitting Baba Isher Singh Jee's back. when Baba Nand Singh jee came out of their smadhi, they saw Baba Isher Singh jee protecting them from the heavy hailstone fall. Baba jee said, whey are standing like this? Baba Isher Singh replied ' the hail stones were falling heavily and you were in smadhi, to protect you from the heavy hailstone fall, i had to stand over you.' baba nand singh jee got very happy by hearing then and blessed baba isher singh jee saying ' that is exactly how a sewadar should be.'



At the Nonee Mountains


One time Baba Nand Singh jee went to the nonee Mountain near shimla. Baba Isher Singh jee went down the mountain to collect some water for baba jee. When baba jee started to come up it started to become dark. Being on a mountain while it was very dark, baba jee forgot the path way to go back up. But when coming down baba jee had made signs to which way to go up ( for example tied pieces of cloth to trees etc.) Slowly they reached to where baba nand singh jee had their aasan. At around quater past 12 they helped Baba Nand Singh jee with their ishnan, and now needed to make tea for them . It started raining heavily , baba ji had no utensils to make the tea in, no fuel, and no sheltered place to make it. They got their garrvaa(small pitcher) and put water in it for the tea. they got Baba jis umbrella and with their hands dug a small hole in the mud. they started a fire in the hole. The small fuel they had was running out so baba jee took their dastaar off and tearing it used it as fuel for the fire. The whole dastaar has finished, but the tea hadn't boiled properly yet. Baba jee then took off his chola and used that as fuel. Finally the tea was made and they took it to baba jee. Baba jee asked how they made the tea in such bad weather and they told them how they used all their clothes to fuel the fire. Baba jee were very happy with them and put their hand on their back.



Pinjour baagh



When Baba Jee Were coming back from shimla they stayed for sometime at 'pinjour baagh' where the Maharaja of Patiala had one of his palaces. It was a three storey building. Baba jee were going up to the third story, when they got to the 2nd storey Baba jee did hukam to baba isher singh jee to wait on the second floor for a while. Baba isher singh jee replied 'satbachan' and stood against the wall. NO parshada, no water, no sleep, for THREE days Baba Isher Singh jee stood in this way against the wall.

On the third day Baba Nand Singh Jee Asked the other sewadars ' where is ishar sia?' the sewadaars said Isher singh is still standing in the stairs. They said we thought you told him to stay there. Baba nand singh jee said , o fools! i only them to stay there for a little while before i came back down, but he is my true sewadaar who has followed my bachan without any question! Baba jee themselves went to the 2nd floor and saw that baba isher singh jee were standing at the same spot they had left them. Baba jee went up to them and embraced them, and told them to do ishnan paani and eat something etc. All the other sewadaars were amazed how baba isher singh jee followed baba nand singh jee's bachan in such a way, without any question.

The sakhee of baba jee's cholaa

One time before divaan at jagraaon, Baba nand Singh Jee did bachan to baba isher singh jee to bring a new unworn cholaa to wear into diwaan. Baba isher singh jee went inside and brought a new unworn cholaa for baba jee. Baba jee put it on but noticed it had no buttons. Baba jee took it off and said there is no button on this, go inside and look for another chola.. Baba isher singh jee came back after a few minutes with the same cholaa in his hands. Baba Nand Singh jee said, this had no buttons, quickly go inside and look. Baba Isher Singh Jee went inside but came back with the same cholaa again.

Baba Nand Singh Jee got angry and said to Baba Isher Singh jee, why do you keep doing this? You keep bringing the same cholaa over and over again without any buttons. Some other older sangis were also there, in which Sant Baba Meeha Singh Jee Siaar wale were also present. The older sangis said to Baba Isher Singh, what are you doing, on one side you say that Baba Nand Singh jee Is God, on the other hand your not even listening to their bachan.

Baba isher singh Said in relpy, Stop talking like this, I am definately follwing Baba jee's Bachan. The tailor forgot to put buttons on the chola, and i have no needle , thread or button, how and where will i put the button on? It is also Baba jee's bachan that under no circumstances can we ask things from any one outside. Now tell me what can i do? When baba jee does bachan, go inside and look, i then do go inside and look for it but i have to bring the same one back again. When baba jee gives hukam to get buttons for the cholaa then i will be able to go to the tailor and get that done.

Baba Nand Singh Jee got very happy with baba isher singh and took the chola off him and put it on. Baba jee did bachan , this boy is steadfast in following Hukam. He had passed all tests and has undertook and understood my maryada.'

Doing Sewa

So in this way Baba Isher Singh Jee left all worldly pleasures and did Baba Nand Singh Jee's Sewa. For three four hours they used to put almond oil in Baba Nand Singh Jee's sees, for two three hours do massage of Baba Jee's Body, Wash Baba Nand Singh Jee's clothes, Do their Ishnaan, Make their parshada and give it to them. In 24 hours Baba jee Didn't used to talk. Without any stop or break they used to be in Baba Nand Singh Jee's sewa. At that time Baba Isher Singh Jee had his Nitnem and Sukhmani sahib 'ghant' or memorised and used to do paat of many other bania at amritvela. During the day baba jee used to read sri sukhmani sahib without any stop. Without reason they didn't talk , and just read bani while doing sewa. Due to a very busy schedule Babaji was always barefooted, he had little time for himself. His heels used to get cracks and often small stones got stuck up in them.
This was the avastha of Baba Isher singh jee, with their mind doing simran and while their body doing sewa, just as Guru Sahib Says,



man bach kram prabh eaek dhhiaaeae

One who meditates on the One God in thought, word and deed





sarab falaa soee jan paaeae 6

- that humble being receives the fruits of all rewards. 6

Bachans Of Baba Nand singh Part 1

Here are a few bachans that baba nand singh jee used to do in updesh form to the sangat , sangis etc.

- 6 maleh of mool mantar everyday is the duty of every gursikh to do. By doing these for a month you get the 'phal' of one paat of sri guru rganth sahib. whatever satsangi does this 6 maleh a day, i promise you! he will never go to any narak.

-by doing jaap of mul mantar gurmantar all problems get solved.

- Mul mantar is the 'milk', do kamai of mool mantar, recognise guru nanak sahib 'haazar naazar' and from this milk you can make whatever you want ( i.e. from milk many different types of things can be made, in the same way anything can be acheived by doing mul mantar.)

- Some call guru sahib paper, pages..may my tongue burn if i ever say anything like that! Every single letter of gurbani is dhan guru nanak..dhanna's stone ate , so why doesnt you guru granth sahib eat? he eats,talks,walks it is just that you dont have the bhaavna and sharda to realise that! Before doing any kaaraj do ardaas to guru sahib, when doing matha tekh at charan only ask for naam di daat!

Just as a lotus flower stays detached/floating along water, in the same manner Khalsa Jee was forever detached from Maya (worldly illusion). Thousands were initiated into the Sikh-fold being enlightened by Khalsa Jee, thousands were taught the correct pronunciations of Gurbani and countless Gianis were moulded. In literature Khalsa Jee has immensely contributed by writing various tracts/pothis about Gurbani and Sikh History and Sikh discipline. He did the construction seva of many Gurdwaras. His katha was so inspirational that if one heard it the once, they never forgot it and they would listen to it repeatedly to further their lifestyle to higher morality and spirituality.

Whilst doing Katha/Kirtan Parchar – the Sangat invited him to Village Mehta, Khalsa Jee accepted the invite and went to Mehta. On 28 June 1961 at Mehta on Thursday at 2.10am their breathing started slowing down and whilst doing Vaheguru Simran, Khalsa Jee merged back into the light that he had come from (back to God). Taking Khalsa Jee to Amritsar Sahib water was taken from the Amrit Sarovar and Khalsa Jee’s ishnaan was performed outside the Gurdwara complex. According to Khalsa Jee’s wishes he’s body was cremated at Patalpuri – Sri Kiratpur Sahib.

Along with them, is the story of absolute prem , the story of bhai sahib Gurmukh Singh Jee Orissa , Who jumped into mahapursh' funeral pyre. Their full jeevan sakhi along with more sakhis about sant gurbachan singh jee will be added soon...

Mahapursh & Sri Sukhmani Sahib Da Paat

A human, on average takes 24000 breaths everyday. sri sukhmani sahib has 21624 words, and 273 words which ae used in the feet of the akhars. Aded toghether this makes exactly 2400 words. Dhan Guru Arjan dev jee has blessed us so much, and given us this gift of sri sukhmani sahib. Any one who reads one sri sukhmani sahib da paat , every breath they take is 'safal.'

So we may ask, what about mahapursh? They are on the avastha of swaas swaas simran, why do they need sri sukhmani sahib. In puratan and varatmaan itihaas we can see that mahapursh never let go of sri sukhmani sahib.

1. Sant kamal Singh of Kamalpur Used to recite Five sri sukhmani sahib paats everyday, and then used to get millions of paats done by the sangis there.

2.Sant Uttam singh jee used to recite sri sukhmani sahib all day from memory.

3. Sant nihchal singh ji, sant jawahar singh ji mittha tiwana, sant gulab singh noorpur, sant hardarshan singh used to recite two paats of sri sukhmani sahib everyday.

4. Baba nand singh jee used to listen to 5 sri sukhmani sahib de paat from their sewak. Baba Nand singh jee specialy recognised the power of sukhmani sahib. There was a time at nanaksar when kaljug wanted to interfere with the bhagti going on there. Baba nand singh did hukam to start a 24 hour , day and night sukhmani sahib paat akhand paat , which is still going 2day at nanaksar at the same place. Kaljug themselves said to baba ji , there is one thing i can't bear and that is sukhmani sahib ! Baba ji laughed and said you yourselves have given us the solution to the problem, we will now never stop sukhmani sahib here! In nanaksar great stress is laid on sukhmani sahib, and all mahapurshs of nanaksar ( baba isher singh ji, baba kundan singh ji, baba sadhu singh ji, poojniye baba gurdev singh jee and so on) do numerous paats of sri sukhmani sahib in their nitnem, and tell others to do it ( aap jape , avreh naam japaveh.)

5. Srimaan Vidya maartand Sant giani gurbachan singh jee khalsa bhindrawale used to read panj granthi everyday , which includes sukhmani sahib. while on long journeys doing parchar, many sewaks would fall asleep , but sant ji would not sleep until he had done sri sukhmani sahib da paat + nitnem etc.

6. In the sewapanthi Samparda, it is their maryada to do Sukhmani Sahib As nitnem ( 1 atleast) everyday.

7. Sant hira singh jee recited sukhmani sahib their whole life.

8. A companion of bhai Randheer singh Jee , bhai aatma singh jee , as soon as he used to wake up sri sukhmani sahib used to start in his surtee ( mind) and he used to complete it in 15 minutes.

9. Another interesting example is that of Sant Mani singh jee's ( birmingham) companion ,bhai amrik singh. He was sehajdhari at first but then took amrit. He became great friends with sant mani singh jee, and sometime later sant ji asked them " what is your nitnem?" out of humility he said he didn't feel right to answer such a question , but as they were a mahapursh he would have to comply. Bhai sahib jee said had an amazing spiritual jeevan. He used to do 5 Siri Sukhmani Sahibs a day plus 250 Siri Chaupai Sahibs a day other then his normal nitnem ( panj bania etc). Once he did Ardaas to do 50 Siri Sukhmani Sahib paaths for Bhai Mani Singh's health and he completed these paaths in 3 days. ( as per teachings of mahapursh , 50 sukhmani sahibs = 1 sri sehaj paat sahib.)

One time, they were attacked by people who wanted to take over the Gurudwara and severely wounded on the head and lost part of their scalp. The doctor who saw them was a member of sangat and had previously said he doesn't understand how Singhs in the old days would keep fighting even when seriously injured, and also questioned how one can become unaware of the body during bhagti etc. Sant Kishen Singh Ji just said "you'll see one day", and left it at that.

When he was about to administer the general anaesthetic, Sant Ji refused and told the doc to operate without it. Skin grafts were taken from the legs and stitched to the head, all while they were awake and didn't flinch once. The doc got his answer.

The first time that baba nand singh did darshan of satguru nanak from Sri guru granth sahib jee, Baba Jawand singh jee ( rajajansee wale) were also present with baba jee. They both made a promise that until Satguru Nanak Dev Jee Does not give darshan by becoming pargat from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee and eat the parshaada they had prepared for them, they would not eat anything.

In this manner , for 6 long days they did not eat anything, but prepared parshaada for satguru everyday by doing continuous ardaas at the lotus charan of satguru jee. In such situation , they were on the verge of death , but both mahapursh did not give up , remembering Bhagat Ravidaas Jee's Bachan ' Ehu Janam Tumaare Lekhe.'

Finally Parkash came from Satguru granth sahib and Sri guru nanak dev jee Gave their darshan to both mahapursh. Baba jee offered satguru jee their parshaada and guru sahib ate their food with much happiness and blessed both mahapursh. 1st guru sahib said to baba jawand singh jee, ask for anything you want. Baba jawand singh ji replied 'whenever i do keertan, please bless me with your partakh darshan satguru jee!' Guru sahib Said ok, you will definatley get my darshan , but even those who even listen to your keertan , even they will get darshan.

Now as we can see baba jawand singh jee had asked, but now it was Baba Nand Singh Jee's turn. Guru sahib asked them, what do you want? Very humbly, baba ji replied, " sache paatshah ! i don't even know how to ask from you " ( daas nu mangna nahee aunda!") Just do one thing, and make me yours! I dont need anything else.' These were the bachans of baba ji proving their absolute piar,prem,bhaavna for guru sahib.

When Dhan guru nanak dev jee walked up to baba nand singh jee and hugged them and said-

'je tu mera hoe, taa sabh jag tera hoe'
If you are mine, then the whole world will be yours...

Baba Isher Singh Jee's Amrit Parchaar

Baba Isher Singh Ji placed a giant emphasis on the need to become Amritdhari. He would visit countless villages and cities throughout India to advance his Amrit Parchar, and the scenes witnessed at these locations were truly staggering as entire villages would come to a halt, and all persons (young or old) would flock to his diwans in the masses to take the holy nectar from the Panj (five) Pyare.
